Effects of PTSD on Family
Each year young men and women join the military to serve our great nation. They volunteer to leave behind loved ones, friends, and various obligations. Their duty places demands on them that test their character. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have made no exception to these tests. Life after a deployment presents the soldier with arguably the biggest test of all and that is adjusting back to the world they left behind.
Veteran issues such as PTSD have gotten a lot of national, state, and local attention in recent years. As a society we have to move beyond the merely saying “thank you for your service.” That is a noble and honorable statement but the fact remains veterans face enormous challenges. These challenges include: PTSD, Suicide, Depression, unemployment, homelessness, and Substance Abuse to name a few.
The PTI was founded by veterans to serve veterans and this blog is dedicated to streamlining relevant and pertinent resources for our veterans.

There is no magic bullet that will unilaterally solve post deployment issues, but if we can advocate for our veterans and their families, we have done a great service to those who so willingly served us.
