How We Help
Psychiatrists
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor that assess both the mental and the physical aspect of psychological problems. Their training enables them to provide a picture of a patient’s physical and mental state. Most psychiatrists generally do not provide talk therapy and testing. They evaluate medical and psychological data to make a diagnosis and develop an appropriate treatment plan that often includes medication.
Here at PTI, our psychiatrists work with therapists and psychologists to ensure that you have the best possible experience and health outcome. PTI has both adult and child psychiatrists. Child psychiatrists have extensive training to address the complexities of mental illness and developmental challenges in children.
Psychologists
A psychologist is a doctor that focuses on treating emotional and mental suffering with behavioral interventions like talk therapy or psychological testing. They use an array of tools to help determine a more exact clinical diagnosis. Many patients use psychological testing to provide clear answers for learning disabilities for 504 programs, IQ, and cognitive assessments. Some psychologists can prescribe medicine. These psychologists are called Medical Psychologist. They work closely with a medical doctor to ensure continuity of care.
Therapists
A therapist’s goal is to provide a supportive and safe environment, which aids patients in creating and living a healthy life. They help patients work through life’s obstacles with the help of improved communication and goal setting as the foundation for this positive change.
