Keishandra Houston, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Keishandra Houston is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She received her undergraduate degree at Charity School of Nursing and William Carey School of Nursing. She recently reached her goal by obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Herzing University.

Her background spans over 20 years in healthcare, with 12 years in psychiatric nursing. Over the years, Keishandra has experienced travel assignments in California, Home Healthcare, Trauma Centers, LTAC, and Inpatient Mental Health facilities. Ms. Houston’s extensive experience as a Registered Nurse made her familiar with psychiatric and substance abuse symptoms, diagnoses, and treatment modalities. Keishandra is a current member of National Black Nurses Association and American Psychiatric Nurses Associations.

Keishandra is a patient advocate. She believes mental illness is an ignored health issue, and often, stigmas prevent patients from seeking the help they need. She found her compassion for mental illness as a young child while playing with her best friend’s sister, who was diagnosed with an Intellectual Disability.

Keishandra is a resident of Slidell, LA. She’s blessed to have her mom, three daughters, and a new granddaughter. She enjoys creating memories with family and traveling
