Kathleen Shaw, LPC-S, is a compassionate and experienced mental health professional with more than 20 years of experience providing services to children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups. She earned her Master of Science in Counselor Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and has worked across a variety of community and clinical settings.
Kathleen specializes in helping individuals navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use concerns, chronic mental illness, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Her approach is collaborative, person-centered, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. She integrates evidence-based techniques, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), within a trauma-focused and trauma-informed framework.
Throughout her career, Kathleen has developed extensive experience in assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration with healthcare providers, community agencies, and legal systems. She believes that healing occurs through authentic connection, empowerment, and a holistic understanding of each person’s experiences. Kathleen is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore challenges, build resilience, and work toward meaningful and lasting change.
