Rob Dahmes, MD
Adult and Child Psychiatrist
Rob Dahmes is a Board Certified Psychiatrist and a Child Psychiatrist. He received his Medical Degree from LSU Medical Center in 1975 and completed his residency and fellowship in 1979. He has served as the Medical Director of both public and private inpatient and outpatient programs for children, adolescents and adults. He has worked as an Investigator with Louisiana Research Associates (performing Phase 2, 3 and 4 investigational drug studies for the FDA), is a clinical assistant professor at LSU Health Science Center and maintains an outpatient practice specializing in psychopharmacology. He is co-author of a chapter in Netherton’s “Textbook of Child and Adolescent Psychological Disorders” released in 2002 and has presented seminars and talks throughout the US and in England, France, Germany and Greece. He is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a Distinguished Life Member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology. He has been selected as a “Best Doctors in Louisiana” for the past 12 years. He is the Parliamentarian for the Alliance for Good Government in New Orleans, the Parliamentarian for the Louisiana Psychiatric Medical Association and the immediate Past-President of the Louisiana Council of Child Psychiatry. He is also the leader of the New Orleans classic rock group, “Monkey Hill”.
