Dr. Michelle Minor is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with dual certification who is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate studies at Southern University A&M College, where she also earned graduate degrees in Master’s Nursing Science and Doctor of Nursing Practice. She recently earned PMHNP Post Master’s Certificate from Herzing University.

Dr. Minor has more than 20 years of nursing experience. She has worked in inpatient, outpatient, correctional, and military settings for many years, treating mental health issues, substance use problems, chronic illnesses, and preventative care.

She has a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of people experiencing mental illness and promoting emotional well-being for both individuals and families. She acknowledges, respects, and treats every person with dignity. Through teaching, she empowers her patients to create healthy boundaries, life skills, and effective communication and emotional expression.

Dr. Minor is affiliated with the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, Neuroscience Education Institute, and Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners.

She loves to travel, spend time with her family, her fur-baby, art museums, photography, interior design, and reading in her free time. She is excited to work with such a diverse group of highly skilled practitioners at the Post Trauma Institute (PTI). Working with patients as a partner of their healthcare team she will strive to advocate, educate, and empower you in choosing a treatment plan that aligns with your values.
